Types of Computer Systems

Games Consoles

Gaming consoles are devices designed for the sole purpose of playing video games. The console itself was the game system, which initially usually include any games playable on the system. Today consoles usually play games that are compatible with their system only and don't have built in game play features.

Mobile Phones

To allow for constant connectivity to an office or home without being tied down to a wired connection. Every time a person takes an out of town trip, or goes to a different office, he or she would have to call family or coworkers, and relay a land line telephone number to a phone where they were at. This is too hampering. With all the advanced features of Cell Phones and PDA's today, wireless connectivity (constant) is even more encompassing with the advent of coast to coast towers for seamless connectivity.

Laptop

The purposes of Laptops are very simple there light and could be carried in a bag or in hand if they are too compact. They are for official computers. Most of the laptops don't serve the purpose of gaming. Many people use laptops for work also laptops are portable and can be used anywhere.

Tablet

A tablet is very convenient for browsing the web because of its touch screen and form factor. It can be held in one hand while the other is free to touch links, scroll pages, or resize pages. It's all screen, so the extra area consumed by the keyboard is not in the way while reading and browsing the web.

The downside of the missing keyboard is that a tablet is lousy for creating content. On-screen keyboards are only good for short stretches of text. Some tablets can be augmented with a keyboard via a dock or Bluetooth to overcome this shortcoming, but then the form factor and portability advantage the tablet over a laptop is undermined.
