Configure

This video will show you how to customise a word document. I have made these changes to make it easier for people. I minimised the ribbon to make more room and so it wont be distracting for some people. I have added items to the QAT ( quick access toolbar ) to make it easier for someone to find things quicker and so you dont have to use the ribbon. I also changed the background colour to blue and the text to white this is because it is far easier to read and to see what you are writing. I have made all these changes to help a visual impairment with the use of word. This makes it easier for people to complete work and makes it easy  to read for people.

This video will show you how to use the Narrator and Magnifier. I have used the narrator option as it reads out what you type this is good for people with a bad eye sight, as the computer reads every word you type. I used magnifier to use the lens that zooms up on your text which makes it easier to read, magnifier has three options lens, full screen and docked. This helps people who cant really see the computer screen special the magnifier as it zooms up your computer so you can read and see the text at a zoomed up mode. Narrator would help with when your writting as it reads out each word you write this will help with any spelling mistakes and make people with a visual impairment be more confident when they are using a computer.

This video will show you how to change the screen resolution. Screen resolution refers to the clarity of the text and images on your screen. At higher resolutions, items appear sharper. They also appear smaller, so more items fit on the screen. At lower resolutions, fewer items fit on the screen, but they are larger and easier to see. At very low resolutions, however, images might have jagged edges and be blurry. Screen resolution helps people see pictures and videos more clear as it can zoom up on a video making it  more sharper so it is easy to see. If you're comparing two screens of the same size but with different resolutions, the screen with the higher resolution will be able to show you more of what you're working on, so you don't have to scroll so much.

Text to speech is a device that reads what you type this is very good for an visually impaired person as they can hear what they type. Text-to-speech is a type of speech application that is used to create a spoken sound version of the text in a computer document. This helps people who cant read clear from a computer screen as when the type a letter the computer reads it out, this will help people from making spelling mistakes. You can also change the settings of the text to speech to suit you for example you can change the voice and the level that the speak at. This would make people with a visual impairment use a computer more.
